The time has come to close the book on this site. It has been a pleasure to serve the Tekken community for some 20 years, but the plug will be pulled sometime late this year or early next year.

I personally have been checked out from the scene for some time now, and I just don't have the time or desire anymore to keep the site going.

I suspect by now most of the conversation has moved on to social media platforms, but this serves as a notice to wrap things up on Tekken Zaibatsu. Make plans to stay in touch elsewhere, save any media and data you might want, etc...

Wow... I didn't expect to see all you popping in to say farewell, it is bit overwhelming and emotional. I never really thought about the lasting impact this site has made on people's lives over the years. Sure is triggering a lot of fond memories of both online moments and real life, SHGL, Electric Cancels, EVOs, gatherings, training sessions, etc...

Thanks to all contributors, members, and moderators who helped make this place what it became.

As far as archiving goes, I will be making a backup of the site before closing and would be open to providing data for that purpose.

If somebody can reach out to @shiburizu to see if he can/wants to merge the TZ Wiki with the SRK Wiki, he can just email me (this old geezer doesn't do Twitter). I'd be happy to provide a database dump.

As far as the forum goes. it runs on pretty old software. I imagine an import of some kind into another platform would be the way the go, otherwise a legacy PHP/MySQL setup would be required.

shiburizu has kindly offered to host the TZ Wiki going forward, and possibly a forum archive (we will see). When I have more details I will post it here. Also looking into opening up the movie downloads to all active members.... stay tuned.

now that I'm at a PC, I can type out my thoughts better:

although I'm sure a lot of us haven't been around the forums in a while, I can say being a part of TZ is something I'll never forget. I'm proud to have been a part of the community on the forums and have met countless people through it. I'm very thankful to Castel for being the keeper of TZ forums for so long. I wasn't around for the slikatel days, but those aren't forgetten, along with many nights on irc.

as like the only source for english tekken info back when I got into tekken in 2005, thanks castel for all the years of dedication and everyone who contributed to the character discussion forums.

Those that are getting into tekken now will never know what it was like to stylize post signatures.

Very sad news, there will be no other convenient place for central Tekken info/beef/ history like TZ.

Thank you Castel and to the other longtime members/admins/supporters/senior and regular mods past and present for keeping this place going across the years.

Guess it really is time to shift to twitter and the numerous discord ventures. If there's any possibility this place can be archived, even if it needs donations let me know and I'll be happy to chip in.
