AP died a long time ago as well because of social media. As much as I would like to bring forums back, feeds have destroyed community based support through encouraging content consumption at a fast rate. If the feed/page isn’t moving, it’s dead.
In regards to video content, YouTube was the death of quality content. You do a search for anything these days and you will see a fairly high portion of the videos online are trash. Not saying that YouTube doesn’t have some good content, it just has a butt load of bad content. Gone are the days when you would spend hours downloading the latest Korean tournament videos and talk for hours about what happened in the videos, breaking them down. We now just watch, consume, forget. Rinse / Repeat.
Yeah when we cinema mode’d the videos, if they couldn’t be embedded it went straight to Youtube. Since moving them to their own landing page I didn’t add that check. It’s easy enough to do though as that value has been saved. I’ll add it tonight.
Probably Facebook, Twitter, and Disqus. Basically social media sites not forums. However, so few have access to the game outside of the Pacific region that it is unreasonable to expect much more than chit chat and flaming.
It is really sad, from just watching the stream for CEO some of the things people say in the chat about us (community), and TZ as a whole is horrendous. We’re not pathetic, stoic, or idiotic.
Personally I think it’s a lack of understanding from ‘outsiders,’ from hear-say, maybe other things that seem to portray us in this ill-favoured manner.
