In ttt2, my 2 favourite Wang moves were df+3 and df+4,1. I hope those 2 moves stay as they were!

Where are all of Wang's key moves? No QCF+2 deathfist? No 1,1,2? Lots of cinematic parries. But those could just be cutscenes.

A few day one notes:


Leroy can b2 parry out of HMT (Hermit Stance)

b2 parries knees and elbows.

HMT auto parries lows.

HMT ss has way longer recovery than normal ss which kinda sucks.

His combo dmg off any NH and CH launcher so far is seriously good. df2,1+2_ff2,2 (solid whiff punisher)_uf4 (safe but slow at i21 Orbital Heel)_HMT f4_ws2_CH b1+2_CH HMT b1_CH HMT b4, all break 70 dmg with his db1,3, d3,2 HMT 2,1 S! dash uf3+4,1+2 day one staple.

b1+2 is an i12, -5 on block +6 NH CH launcher, very little range but could be hella abusable.

ff1+2 is a safe on block i17 ranged mid barge attack. This along with Leroy's db3,1+2 'sweep bang' gives him a strong power mid/low game to add to his respectable poking arsenal.

His i14 block punisher with 1+2,1+2,1 yields 56 dmg! Also, the final unsafe hit is HC so you can just throw out 1+2,1+2 at -9 on block in open play until you ID the second straight blast and then press 1...That'll get nerfed.

There's no fucking way Leroy doesn't get nerfed in some future patch. I almost don't want to play Tekken again until he does.

Not looking to play him but I did buy him to lab him. I got so frustrated at some of the bullshit he has I had to put my controller down.

He needs a combo damage nerf and to lose the HC off 1+2,1+2>1. I'd make his NH launchers like ff2,2 and ws2 launch punishable by the whole cast (I just think launchers in general should all be more unsafe in this game). db3,1+2 should only track to one side. Beyond that he's pretty linear and his whiff recovery is pretty bad.

I think his NH launchers on block is fine. His ws+2 being -14 is inline with other launchers of that archetype like King's ws+2, and ff+2,2 being -13 means the cast will get something good enough to where a good player is not going to want to spam it. And his df+2, 1+2 is already like -16 or -17.

I don't have a problem with his high combo damage per say. In fact I don't have any major issue with one specific thing he has. I think the over arching problem is that there is no balance to all the great tools he has:

Zafina has great combo damage, at the cost of being super risky as far as negative frames on block go.
Lei has great mix up potential, at the cost of having mediocre combo damage.
Mishimas have a really great move in EWGF, at the cost of requiring great execution to perfect it.
etc...

Leroy on the other hand, has great punishment, great combo damage, a great wall ender on top having great wall carry, great mix up and some really abusable tools and all without requiring any sort of execution barrier or major risk in general. And his stance is near perfect too, with it auto parrying lows and having safe high/mid parry options (I think they're safe, I could be wrong on that).

Having one or two of those things wouldn't bother me but there is no balance. That to me is what makes him broken.

And after saying all of that, I should add that he doesn't particularly bother me any more. He did at first but like I said earlier, there's absolutely no way he's not going to hit with the nerf hammer in the future. I suspect (and others have made videos and commented on this as well), that Namco purposefully made him to be this strong to generate some sort of buzz or hype around him in order to "sell" him. Give it a few months and before the new TWT season starts and he'll be made grounded. Until then, if people want to have fun with all his shenanigans for now, it's whatever.

I think he has too many great moves. I think the way they should nerf him again is to completely remove maybe 3 of his best moves. Maybe the really fast mid safe launcher on CH move, the far reaching kick that has varying frames on block that is a high, and something else. Maybe only those 2 completely removed and he would be fair
