JOSIE AND BRUCE COMPARISON

MAIN OBSERVATIONS

1. Josie has a similar stance as Bruce's Pasart. Google translated it from Jap to Eng as "switch stance," so I'll refer it as Switch.

2. d/f+1 seems to come out faster. It's hard to react to d/f+1,2 or d/f+1,4. But, the recovery of just d/f+1 seems to be the same as Bruce's, so it's slow. New extension, d/f1,4,2 (m,l,h). seems like the 4,2 is NCC.

3. Bruce's Pasart moves are different with Josie's Switch.

Pasart 2 is Switch 1. Does have the same CH property and almost as fast, but it's an elbow and similar to Bruce's Pasart 1 animation.
Pasart 1,4 is gone.
Switch 2 is a slower animation that launches on CH and a mid.
Pasart 4 is Switch 3 that launches on CH and is a homing move.

It's also good to note that Switch 3 and Switch 2 animation is Josie spinning. 2 is a mid and 3 is a low. So.. mixups!

4. CH d/f+4 gives out a guaranteed Switch 1. Similar to Bruces CH d/f+4~Passart 2

5. CD is almost the same. Still the same good CD 3 and CD 2. There's no grab extensions though.
Also CD 1 is different. You cant continuously do a lot of 3,2,f~CD1 wall carry anymore.
New move though. CD 1,3. 3 being a screw attack.

6. d/f 3 is the same. -9 on block it seems. d/f 3,1 is gone though. Instead, we have d/f3,2. 2 is the same as the 2 in 3,2. So, you can cancel it to a CD with d/f3,2,f

7. Switch1 is probably as good as Passart 2.

8. She has a new stance. I think it's called backsway. Inputted as b3+4. Also comes out after WS2,1 by inputting WS,2,1,b

9. If you input f during Switch, Josie goes to a crouch dash.

10. She has a right punch parry. Input as 1+2.

11. Overall, Josie seems to be a weaker but faster version of Bruce.

OTHER NEW MOVES AND MOVES THAT CHANGED FROM BRUCE

f+2,3,4 (h,l,h) also a S!. Can use to combo off of to WS3

2,d4 and 1,2,d4 are different. Full extension is 2,d4,4 and also a S!

3,3 is S!. The combo ender we saw on the trailer with the 3 is inputted as 3,f+3.

No f+3,1. And no d/b2,1,4 (new input). f4,3,4 is also absent.

Bruce's d/b2,1,4 for Josie is d/b4,2,3. Cannot be comboed after f+3 on wall.

f,f+3 is Bruce's f,f+4 (kinda. its the combo ender we saw in the trailer with the foot) and Bruce's f,f3 is
Josie's f,f4.

No Bruce's b+2. Josie's b+2 is a fast elbow that gives out a throw animation on CH. It sucks now. Not to be confused with f1+2 with the jumping elbow used in juggles.

d/f 2 seems to be a generic d/f2. Not also an elbow. Still jab punishable though. Might launch crouching opponents? Josie also kinda ducks in the animation. Might whiff some highs?

d/f3+4 is her power crush. Has a huge block stun. Animation is similar to Bruce's CD 3+4. Not launch punishable, but might be jab punishable.

SHE HAS A TAUNT! (I think) Input is 1+2+3.

OTHER MOVES AND WHAT HASN'T CHANGE.

1,2,3 (3 is new animation and knee)
1,4,3
2,3
3+4
f2,4
f3
f3+4
d/f1, 4 and d/f1,[4,4]
d+2 (breaks floor)
d4
b1+2
b4,3,4 ; b4,3,d4 ; and b4,3,d[4,4]
b2+3 (unblockable)
u/f3+4
f,f,f3 or WR3 (still really good)
WS1 (f+2,4 is still guaranteed on CH)
WS2,1 (still launches for a d3,4 follow up combo)
WS3
FC d/f4 ; FC d/f,d,d/f4
f,f3+4 grab (now wall splats)

OTHER MOVES AND ARE TOTALLY NEW TO JOSIE

1,2,2 (It's h,h,h. Might be a 10 frame NC punish? 1,4,3 is better though.)
f4 (It seems like Bruce's f+4 and without the extensions. Faster mid poke?)
f1+2 (The jumping elbow used in juggles. Guaranteed hit if opponent doesn't back roll.)
d3+4 (Similar to Kazuya/Devil Jin's b+4.)
b+1,1 (h,h. First one is an elbow then the 2nd is a S! attack.)
b3 (a decent mid homing poke.)
u/f3 (An orbital heel like move.)

Hope I didn't forget anything.

KEY MOVES

Sorry for being messy.. She has a lot of good moves. D:

1,4,3 (go to 10f punish)
f+2,4 (go to 12~13f punish. Wallsplats and guaranteed after WS1 on counter hit)
f+1+2 (Mostly used on juggle. But also good when pressuring or trying to get in. Guaranteed d/f+1,4,2 on hit. Very fast (i14 frames) and a good whiff punish tool. Plus frames on block.)
f+2,3,4 (Good option to use when causing tail spin to opponents. Also, use this after a hit on WS3. Also, a good juggle ender.)
d/f+4 (Go to Switch mix up. On CH, Switch 1 is guaranteed.)
d+4 (Even a better poke now! It's -10 on BLOCK! A very good low poke! Feels so good when you manage to hit them with this many times in a row. Mostly used to chip or pester your opponents to duck though. has bad damage.)
d+3,4 (More accurate crumple pick up.)
d/b+4,2,3 (Probably NCC and -15 on block too. Go to wall combo. Delay 3 for stronger damage. Also a good juggle ender on the WS2,1 combo.)
Switch 3 (Low that launches on CH.)
Switch 1 (High. Crumples on CH. Also very fast. Leaves the opponent crouching on block. Also breaks the floor.)
Switch 2 (Also crumples on CH. Mid and safe. But slower.)
d/f+1 extensions (Fast and really good. If use sparingly, can confuse opponents and have a hard time reacting to it. d/f+1,2 is NC. d/f+1,(4,2) seems to be NCC. Go to safer mid option when choosing to pressure opponent with jabs.)
d/f+3,2 (Seems to be NCC. Can cancel 2 with CD too. d/f+3 is -9 on block. d/f3,2 is probably -11 on block though.)
3,2 ; 3,2,f ; 3,3 (Still a good poking tool. 3,3 is safe but high. 3,2 is jab punishable. 3,2,f leads to CD mixups but interruptible. 3,3 and 3,2 are both NCC. 3,3 wallsplats. Interrupting 3,2 KD and wallsplats.)
u/f+3+4 (still as good as Bruce's. Nice reach. Go to whiff punish.)
d/f+2 (go to standing launcher. Has a high crush animation. Unsafe on block. -13f-ish Not sure if it launches crouching opponents.)
u/f+4 (generic hopkick. Similar to Tekken 3 Julia animation, so, longer reach?)
u/f+3 (Kinda like an orbital heel. Depending on the direction, can make Josie do the move in place with u+3, or backward with u/b+3. Good to catch opponents who wants to get in.)
WR3 or f,f,f+3 (As good as Bruce's)
f,f+3+4 (Since grabs are now easily broken where they can react by inputting 1 or 2, this is your best option for an unexpected grab. Also wall splats when opponent is close to the wall!)
WS 1 (+14 on CH. Guaranteed for a f+2,1 or f+1+2 follow up.)
WS 2,1 (NC. Mid, high. Unsafe on block. But has backsway extension that whiffs highs. Juggle start on hit with forward dash~d+3,4.)
WS 3 (Now a good juggles starter. Do f+2,3,4 on hit. Also safe on block!)
WS 4 (Safe mid option.))

Not as important but still good moves.

1,2,2 (NC but unsafe on block. At least -10)
FC d/f4 or FC d/f,d,d/f4 (Not as good as plus frames on normal hit as Bruce. Still crumples on CH for a simple follow up.)
3,f+3 (Juggle ender)
f,f+3 (Has good range and block stun.)
f,f+4 (Seems to be as good as Bruce's f,f+3. Doesn't have much block stun though. Also a Homing move.)
d+2 (BREAKS TEH FLOOR! Use after S!)
f+3 (Crumple pick up. Though, d+3,4 is a better option now as it is not as consistent as Bruce's)
b+4,3,4 (Works as a wall combo. b+4,3 is also a good NC whiff punish.)
b+3 (seems like a good homing poke)
f+4 (Mid poke with long reach. Can be used to end rounds.)
1+2+3 (ITS A TAUNT! IT'S IMPORTANT!)

OTHER THOUGHTS

Her Power Crush is not jab punishable on block, but not launch punishable. It wall splats, so its good to use on walls.

1,2,2 seems to be NC. 1,4,3 is still the most damaging option but 1,2,2 might be more advantageous for pressuring the opponent.

Magic 4 to 1+2 is still valid for Josie.

When juggling with Switch, you must cancel it to CD for the CD1,3 S!. This is particularly hard with the WS2,1~dash in~d+3,4~Switch f~CD1,3 combo as a lot of people seem to drop it.

WS3 is better now. Can combo with a f+2,3,4 follow up. A good crouching mix up to include with FC d/f4 and WS2,1.

Back Sway 1 - high, crumple stun launcher
Back Sway 2 - mid, knockdown
b+3 - thought this was f+4 but it wasn't
d+3+4 - not 100% but it looks similar to Bruce's d+3+4 but launches this time

I believe this is f+1+2 and the one you can use in juggles. It's different from b+2 because she slightly jumps forward like a superman punch but she stays standing in b+2.

1,2,2's 3rd hit is just an elbow that leaves opponent standing. Looks like a standard 10f punish.

Switch 1 has the same ch properties as Pasart 2 but looks more like Pasart 1 with slightly different animation and no 4 extension.

Josie Rizal Move List

Totally wrong about d+3+4. It looks more like DJ/Kaz b+4. The one that looks similar to Bruce's d+3+4 is actually u/f+3.

Took some notes on 15/04/21 Josie Rizal Online Match.

- Clip of ch ws1, f+2,4.
- Not sure if f+1+2 is a launcher but f+1+2, d+3+4 works.
- u/f+3+4~d+4 at wall seems guaranteed. It's landed more than a few times 42m25s 46m59s 1h16m43s 1h51m27s 2h3m21s 2h4m12s 2h6m29s
- You can still do multiple 3,2~f 1 for wall carry. 45m10s 1h6m59s
- 3,f+3 ender carries pretty far and wall splats. 1h42m39s 2h1m12s

Combos:
d/f+2, f+1+2, 2,4 Switch f Slide-In 1,3 S! 3,f+3 41m45s 1h54m43s 1h54m55s 1h58m55s

Does df+3,2~f give enough frames to have uninterruptible options?
Signature Ursus Arctos; when saying it once isn't enough.

I think the mix up game here is doing df+3,2 for people who tries to interrupt and doing the forward extension to those who waits have to deal with the CD mixups.
So, no. Doing d/f3+2~f will always be interruptible it seems.
