Honestly I LOVE the sound of that team - Baek/Steve~Steve/Baek

Just watching some of the footage out of Green of the characters like this match (not a team, just good players of each character) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_bUAyJGYwc4

It's easy to notice that both Steve and Baek are both pretty solid at applying pressure and rush down. Respectively they can both hit and poke hard, play as can openers and force mistakes. Lot's of cancels.

I've heard that Baek's Flamingo SS and some stuff got a nerf in this game, and that just in general he's down from BR. Probably something similar to Steve's drop.

As to how you structure your team, it's pretty difficult to to say one is 100% correct on any team structure because there are +'s and -'s however you decide to go.
Looking at ability/experience with the characters you're playing is the right starting point.

I guess you need to ask the questions...
How comfortable am I opening with Baek? Do I die a lot before Steve is tagged in? Am I able to get Steve in safely with Rage?

If your answers are negative to the questions above, then starting with Baek isn't giving you the reward your team structure should be. If Baek is your 2nd best character and you have no-one else to play, don't go solo, lol, stick to the Baek and just make sure to learn how to play him well enough first to be able to answer the 1st three questions positively.

When you are comfortable enough to play Steve or Baek as lead you can chop and change and find which suits your developing style more and also use it to counter pick the characters that your opponent is using to lead i.e if Baek is better against someone like Eddy and if Steve is better against a King or whoever, then just change accordingly.

I'd like to see staple damages for Baek~5~Steve combos though - I can't imagine the damage being too shabby.

I'm making some progress on the Hwoa/Steve side of combos...

Steve's 311 TA filler is a great for Hwo to get a Hunting Hawk after.

Fuck me you can die quickly in this game though. A Steve 10F Punish 1,1,2 and a regular throw equaling 68Dmg + a Hworang stock JFSR TA combo no wall is 112Dmg making it a dead. That's a life bar without accessing rage, needing a wall or a CH.

The thing is when people lose like 60-70Dmg to some jabs and a throw they aren't 'that concerned' and still think they're potentially safe for life. Some of these combos in the game, esp. with rage can just flatten you after a decent (30dmg) poke and a regular throw. The other scary part is that they are stock combos... not always majorly hard to input and the risk/reward like a blocked JFSR is great for what you'll get out of it.

As long as the GF let's me off the hook tonight, I'll probs make another batch of progress.

Update:
GF was tame, made progress.

Was doing Steve qcf+1~b W! splats last night. Solo, TA and just looked at some of the damages with Rage and on Jack etc.
These guys can hit pretty fuckin hard, initially I wasn't so convinced their TA's at the wall were 'all that' after checking the damage with a Steve's qcf+1 W! - shit's McLovin.

Found a cool looking little wall rebound with Steve's b+2 JG and Hwoarang's TA JFSR before I went to bed.

When I make more progress I'll make the posts with the updates of my damages... there's so much to do. lol

Sup -

Ok the Hwoarang Staple Vid is out and it's got quite a bit of feedback from some of the Hwoarang players there... some good insight and things to bare in mind if you are playing with this team are mentioned.

It's a 16min staple CMV, wasn't lying when I said there was loads to do... lol

Thanks Ex
But honestly I haven't checked out Steve's qcb2+4~5 yet... I am still inundated with all the stuff im checking out for Hwoarang, Steve's been completely neglected.

Made a hell of a lot of Hwo progress though... if you're into Hwo as a partner, there's tons of shit posted on the Hwo BnB staples threads with vids. lol
Carm is the man on that side, his posts are full of goodness. hehe

cba reading the whole thing but i noticed some stuff from the first post that you can improve.

Steve can bound on the 7th hit, and you can still get HH into SF. For example:

Hwo/Steve: b+3~5, dck f+2, dck 1, d/f+1,2,1~b, dck cancel ws+1,2~5 B! u/f+3,4,3, d/f+1+2 - 97 dmg

Steve/Hwo: u/f+2, d/f+1,2,1~b, FLK 1, f+2,1, f,f+2~5 B! u/f+3,4,3, d/f+1+2 - 95 dmg

A bit more damage then the ones listed.

EDIT: Also off CH f+3,1 you can do:

CH duck 1, df+1,2,1~b, flk 1,(1),f+1 B!, dash df+1+2

Hey Bopper,
Nice combos, I am sure those are going to come in useful.

I haven't been focusing on Steve at all since I made the vid and listed the combos I have found to be very reliable for decent damage. I am sure that there are quite a significant amount of combos/options out there with Steve that are missing from my lists so if you find more just keep posting it all up. When I finish the Hwoarang section and get back to Steve, it'll be great to have a bunch of new data to go through and reassess what's out there.

I'm just learning Steve, but here's some Steve/Hwo I came up with, not listed in this thread:

Steve CH Dck1, SF, ff+2~5 B!, Hwo 3+4, RFF f+3~HH, Steve SF = 95dmg

Steve ExtDck1, SF, ff+2~5 B!, Hwo 3+4, RFF f+3~HH, Steve SF = 97dmg

Steve ExtDck1, SF, ff+2~5 B! Hwo 3+4, RFF 3~4~f, RFS b+3, Steve b+1~b~flk1~b~alb2 = 97dmg

Steve Dck2, Dckf+2~dck1, df+1,2,1, ff+2~5 B!, Hwo ssr 3+4, RFF 3~4, Steve SF = 94dmg

Steve Dck2, Dckf+2~dck1, df+1,2,1, ff+2~5 B!, Hwo HH, Steve SF = 93dmg

Steve ExtDck2, Dck2~Dck1, df+1,2,1, ff+2~5 B! Hwo 3+4, RFF f+3~HH, Steve SF = 108dmg

Steve uf+2, df+1,2,1, df+1,2,1, ff+2~5 B!, Hwo 3+4, RFF f+3~HH, Steve SF = 100dmg

Steve b+2, ff+2~5 B!, Hwo f+4, RFS b+3, Steve df+1,2,1~b~flk1~b~alb2 =80dmg
(easier than the one in 1st post, same dmg)

Btw, Steve is really fun in this game (didn't play t6). I'll keep updating this post as I find more stuff.

With Steve an easy TA! is SSL, b+1,d+2,1, then u can use Hwoarang uf+3,4,3 or f+4, RFL b+4 for wall carry if there is a wall nearby.

Pretty sure u meant b+3 with Hwo too.

Sorry I did mean b+3 what are the options at a wall for Steve..

Say I (b) to tag Steve in at wall I currently do d+f+1+2 to hwo d+f+3+4 to finish

Also what can I do after say I bound the char to then juggle and they hit a wall?? At the moment I do the same just 1+2+d+f maybe he has better options
