Sup -

I made a staple combo video for anyone looking to screw around with Steve and Hwoarang.

Tried to keep things as simple, similar and reliable in places as possible. Nothing fancy, also no wall combos in this video, just listing Juggles for the majority of Steve's launchers showing what he'd get for staple Solo and then with TA Hwoa.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zR90rkT6VTw
(If you don't like the music hit mute and play some of your own.)

This is a list of some of the juggles you'll find in the vid... they're not in any order though - ^_^

Legend:
Ste = Steve
Hwo = Hwoarang
HH = Hunting Hawk ( Hwoarang's uf+3,4,3)
SF = Sonic Fang (Steve's df+1+2)
Use the Tekken Zaibatsu Legend on the Home page for all the other notations.

Steve Launchers:

BT Opponent 21~f PKB uf+2

I'm pretty sure this isn't guaranteed anymore. I remember reading that it's duckable now since the change.

BUT! That's an assload of combo's O_o I need to get back to practicing!

This is cool and all, but why make a seperate thread for this when it could easily fit into the Steve combo thread?

Morning all-

@ Mawbs - oh shit does 2,1f Pkb uf2 not work anymore? Fuck, I'll have to remember that. Got any idea what the new BT juice is?

@ Sofa - I like the suggestions, nice.

@ Da Stunna, Thosinjin - yeah true, one could just paste this into the Steve Combo thread..... but I am choosing not to. Just running through that thread, it looks extremely disorganised and people are posting all sorts of random tidbits of information on mixed characters and it's all spread out and not easy to follow.

I like GrandKitaro's idea of creating a 'Steve/Jack Combo and Discussion' thread, it keeps things organised and it's easy to follow. Also, all the information should be relevant to Steve and his tag partner so that when I tell noobs to go and take a look at the Steve threads for information on their character pairings they don't go onto one thread and have to wade through 20 pages of mixed character combos and discussion to find the pair they're looking for.

I am going to edit the name of this thread... make it 'Steve/Hwoarang Combos and Discussion'.

As a moderator, sure I should know better, as someone that has been promoting and teaching Tekken to new players for the past six years, I do know better.

The most important thing to new players is easy access to relevant and concise information.

@ MYK/Fab - can you edit this topic to "Steve/Hwoarang Combo and Discussion"?
If not no worries.

Ok Mr.I know better:

How many characters are there currently in this game... 50+? So using your logic, if everyone has a different partner, each person should post a new topic and talk about Steve + partner.

Or, maybe...... we could create one topic, where people can post combos with Steve + partner, the OP makes that post easy to navigate, that way we dont have a bunch of topics talking about the same thing!

But.... Nah, let's just make a whole bunch of new forum posts instead

What like the way it's being managed at the moment?

If the Combo thread is going to be spammed up the way it is at the moment, and they become really clogged up with information in all sorts of random places. They are going to be a bitch to clean up and browse through.

To save space and for efficiency, sure your suggested method works well, but it doesn't seem like that method is working well atm neither does it seem like it's going to be working well anytime soon.

Suggestion - what we may be able to do is create a whole bunch of these topics for the active members speaking about Steve and Partner ATM:

i.e 'Steve/Hwoarang Discussion and Combos' and 'Steve/Jack', I saw some 'Steve/Lars', 'Steve/Kaz' on the combo thread as well etc. etc.
Let those focus specific topics fill up to a point that they have sufficient information and then let a mod do an easy to access recon of the information on a single locked thread that can be called something like "Steve and Tag Partner X Combo City" or whatever that houses all the information. At that point we can delete/remove/hide the discussions once the information is consolidated and it will be one long ass forum post on all of Steve and tag partner X's juggles.

The way I see the option that we've got going is just one long ass thread that no-one is going to have fun sorting out or find what they're looking for in easily.

Even if we have to delete/store/hide some of the Steve/Partner X topics when they've managed to fulfill their purpose, we can still have a very consolidated and clean forum.

just saying.

Should yourself and our mods here want to do it another way or continue the way that it's being done doing atm, no worries. Go ahead and remove the topic and migrate my post to the single combo thread if it makes sense to do that.

Why do people have to bitch about little things and not appreciate what one has contributed? there are bigger things to worry about in life than a bloody new post or thread, and btw steve threads have been dead lately because no one is sharing their info because of ungrateful ppl like this.. i have a heck of alot of stuff to share, wanna say thanks to bestofnorway and foxsteve for taking time to share and care..

btw foxsteve when you get to play someone, i think its best to get rid of red life with tag buffer than have an extremely long combo with tag which they can recover back quite easily and also be left in rage...

but yeh steve and jack combos. wall.
after ff2!b5 jack 1+2, 1+2 steve b2 in between jacks move then sf.
ff2!b5 jack 1+2, 1+2 steve d1 between jacks move steve ws1 delayed 2.
f2,1-bflkcancel ws12.B 5 jack u+1+2, steveb+1flk 31,1

jack ff+1+2 5 steve dck1 df,121, ff2B!5 jack uf1, steve b1-flk+b2
will post more later

also is 321 safe now? because alot of ppl havnt really punished me on that too. maybe if u delay it it gives more pushback on block?

FoxSteve: Sounds good!

-BullRage-: Ill guarantee you that the Steve forum is not dead due to people like myself hording all that secret Steve tech.. Ill tell you why Steve's forum is dead, it's because Steve is not easy mode this time round! As for being ungrateful, im one of the handful of people that recently have been posting in the Steve forums, sharing my findings.

I just dont see the point in making numerous threads talking about combos. You dont need to list 30+ combos for Steve + partner because this is what it all boils down to:

1) Steve solo combo
2) Steve TA combo
3) Steve wall carry
4) Steve wall combo
5) Steve red life combo

You would need at most 3 different variations for each of the 5 points I listed, and 90% of the time you'll be doing the same bloody combo all the time!

Answer this, if you had a list of 10 combos, in order of highest damage to lowest, why would you even bother going to #10 when you would be wanting the highest damaging combo possible to help you win the match!

That's why threads like this are a waste of forum space.

If we were to make one combo thread, listed at MOST 10-15 combos per partner, taking into consideration that Steve's wall & TA filler combos will most like only consist of 3 different options so you would not need to list those with each partners combos, just imagine how clean and uncluttered the new topic would be!

But at the end of the day, while MYK and FAB are sleeping on Steve... along with the rest of the world, who cares, post away my fellow Steve players, we are a rare breed in tag 2

Sup BR! We need to play again... lol

Otherwise thanks for the props and and as usual the contributions you always give. Feels like soooo much work to do in this game though - lol

After getting back from that IeSF World Champs in Korea last month I've just been fucking bushed, I haven't been able to focus on this game properly and South Africa/console only had the game for like 2 weeks before the Tournament... so playing a T6BR Steve/Hwoarang against NIN and company wasn't fun.
Capped a couple of good Steve/Marduck Mirrors against NIN and Battousai before I played though...

This game is so big lol

But yeah, let's get on with breaking it down I guess.

Atm I am working on a little Hwoarang Staple Section and combo Vid for myself. EpicStoffer has a neat thing going on in the Hwoa threads, it's the general TZ structure as you have suggested Tosh, but he's on top of things, so it's working out well on those boards.

@ BR again - YES wrt the Red Life thing... as I said, the fucking game is big, and GF keeping me up at night bro, tired. lol
Luckily my core students down here have grown up throughout DR n BR and can now for the most part look after themselves.
So I'll have more time to focus on Steve/Hwoa and my teams now, hopefully.

Plan of action is to get Hwoa Staples and TA with Steve down and capped.
Then it's Wall Combos for both characters and then a Red Life section for both.

Flying up to Sodium Overload 3 Tournament tonight with my guys, so I'll have the whole weekend to test some things out and swap notes with everyone.

Have you swapped Jack notes with GrandKintaro? He's got a separate post up for Jack/Steve.

Also, wanted to ask you if you're lading dck1 at all and/or when you land CH df+2 - which type of follow ups are you using and finding the most reliable?
I saw NIN doing f+2(hit confirm) 1 ... you doing the same thing?

That Jack stuff sounds delicious.

The awesome thing about the Practice Mode now is that you actually get a little 'Punish' signal when you are effectively punishing a move. So I'll go into Prac mode when I get a chance and let Steve do a 321 while I block it and see what I can punish it with.

The cool thing about forums is that they're flexible. As long as someone with some knowledge has the permissions to clean things up and re-structure, we can make a bit of a mess and then sort it out later.

321 has been safe since vanilla T6... it's just that 412 gave better risk/reward on CH.

@Michin Nom - Hm.. I thought it was punishable in T6. I guess it's because i've kind of neglected that move, because of 412 as you say.

@Bullrage - Yeah, I've tried out the Steve/Marduk team myself, as I really like Marduk, and used to play him a little in T5/T6. Also, the combo off Marduks ff1+2 throw alone is reason enough to use that team. ff1+2~5 (steve) extdck1~5 (marduk) d/f4,2~5 TA! (steve) ssl 1,2,1~b~flk1, abl d2, (marduk) 1+3_2+4_ff1+2 (90_94 dmg). Soooo sexy

Edit: d/f1,2,1. Not 1,2,1.

No, that does not work:/ but it might be a good place to throw out a punsh parry if they wanna try and punish.

Sup -

Tournament this weekend was fucking schweeeet... had loads of fun.

love Steve's d+1~FC d+1~Pkb - was using that loads to turn on the pressure this weekend... it's a nice way to come in.
I also used the 3,2 1+Pkb mix up this weekend, it's good and safe, yes.

Here are the matches I capped of NIN v Battousai http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g1ykH8pP2mQ

Otherwise fuck, people are saying Marduck has some broken shit on Rage - seems like you've all tapped into that. lol

Dropping Jack - yeah sure I can see him not being easy to come in with... but I think he needs to be played defensively anyway.

I'm playing Steve and Hwoarang... they can be very in your face and force mix ups etc. - but TTT2 damage in general should make you think twice about pressing too many buttons.
