b+2,1 either doing more damage (old b+2,1, 1,4) or jailing would be nice.

Also better hopkick range.

I was thinking about this move lately, wang's new u/f+3,1

I have a feeling (please let me be wrong) that u/f+3,1 could be hard HC move used to bait opponents punishment if they block the hopick (and choose to jab since it's punishable) e.g Julia u/f+4,3,1,

If so will it be easy/hard to HC, maybe delayable?

Just a thought. Mid may is coming so hopefully more info videos will blossom

Most moves seem the same.
u/f+3,1: you see the start of it, doesn't look like a launcher, but it does look like a homing move.

His tag throw seems to look like a side throw or something? Seems strange.
d/b+3 seems a tad slower or more pronounced.

At 8:30.

u/f+4 seems to have more range, but not more tracking.

At 11:10 there's another match, but like all the other the Wang dies so fast you don't see anything.

Finally a proper Wang match.

Looks like u/f+3,1 is m,m (possibly h,m), reasonably quick, homing and doesn't KD on normal hit. Also seems reasonably safe on block, or at least pushes people too far for most jabs to reach. Other than that he looks exactly the same.

u/f+3,1 looks like NC and to me it looks h,h. But we'll have to wait for more videos to confirm. I will miss his T6BR u/f+3.

Reminds me of lee's BR u/f+3,1 animation, only difference is that wang's 1 pushes.

Should be able to wall splat, might make decent whiff punish or combo finisher.

@0:41 db3 seems to recover crouching. wang did a WS1,1 imediately after db3

EDIT: seen @2:10 as well! i like the new animation of db3
how many of you would have preferred db3 to recover crouching instead of standing like in BR?

EDIT: @2:36 uf3,1 seems to be NC. looks like dmg is in the range of 28-32 (just a guess)

I am thinking that unless u/f+4 has somehow changed, the removal of his u/f+3 hopkick is a blessing-in-disguise.

u/f+4 1+2~5 (B) to full on tag combo. =)

Just have to get familiar with the tag system a bit more.


u/f+3,1 looks like it may be good for tracking/spacing since it seems to be NC and safe (so far) on block.

If uf+4 is still 16 frames and he does not have a 15 frame hop kick or 15 frame launch in general, it is a huge nerf.

Not a huge nerf, but still a nerf. Not to mention that uf+3 has crap range anyway.

Forest has a very Tekken 6 mindset, that juggles are everything. Wang has pretty crappy launchers, you're not going to be winning with juggles.

Name how many -15 moves you block on a regular basis that u/f+3 consistently punishes.

And I mean moves people actually use.

I am just going to say that df+2,1 is not for everyone since it is so bad on block. uf+3's range is pretty good, better than a generic df+2. Just estimate what a df+2's range is, add a bit of distance, and that is the range of uf+3. It is not hard to punish pretty much all -15 or above moves with uf+3. uf+3 is only -13 or -12 or whatever it is on block, so you are not going to eat huge damage if you miss your punishment opportunity like with df+2,1. uf+3 still offers huge damage, like over half with walls. If Namco kept his punishment the same, including his current Tekken 6 version of uf+3, for Tekken Tag 2, I would be happy and I would still play as him. But if he become one of those 16 frame only characters for launching, that is a big deal imo. In that case, I might completely switch from Wang to someone else. I use his uf+3 from his QCF roll dash too. That shit is too good, dude! Moving forward super fast, then crush them with a 15 frame launch that is only -13? I will take that over any bullcrap move they are nerfing his uf+3 to.

You completely sidestepped my question. I really hope you do stop playing Wang, because then it means you'll stop making your trashy posts. Wang's u/f+3 was never that great to begin with, he still has a launching high crush option and I'm assuming most decent Wang players won't actually care that much considering what we get in return.

with uf+3, I think it will add a nice tool to the FC game. Especially if db3 goes in to crouching. Seems that db3 is more see-able though.
