538 agreed to answer some questions. Of the questions submitted, these are the ones he answered:

sithlord: How did you get started doing combo vids? What continues to drive you to make them still?

538: More than 10 years ago, I happened to watch one Incredible Combo Video(not Tekken).
This is the trigger.
The reason why I keep making is...
I couldn't turn over my work(making combo) to someone young(I missed the timing)
and
I myself am still not tired of making.

sithlord: You recently joined youtube and started uploading your 10th anniversary videos. Will you upload the rest of your videos to your youtube account?

538: Maybe.

sithlord: How do you feel about the success of your videos and the overall success of KYSG?

538: I'm happy that many people share my sense of value.
and I thank the members who change the KYSG from my own Project to the Team Project.

sithlord: Some viewers dislike the use of programmable sticks in combo videos. How does this affect you?

538: I understand the opinion.
I think it's only difference in value.(so I don't care about it)
Purpose of Combo Video is not to appeal one's skill.
How much I do under my rule is the most important for me.
Combo Video is not "Contest" but "Puzzle & Art".

sithlord: Your videos all have a concept behind them. How important is concept to you? Do you think today's combo video creators should focus more on concept?

538: We can't set up the goal of video without theme.
Therefore, Concept(theme) is very important.
This is only my value, so I don't think for creators to share this.
(I even envy the creator who can make Good one without Concept)

sithlord: How do you feel about current combo video creators?

538: Increase of creators now is Good.
It's not too much to say that Combo culture is established.
Team A.C.E. is the Most Stylish Creators.

sithlord: Any new releases planned for Tekken or other games in the near future?

538: Yes.
I will publish 10th anniversary work within this year.
It's the last work as combo creator.
after that, I'll keep paying attention to combo trend.

sithlord: Speaking of other games, do you plan on doing videos for Street Fighter X Tekken by Capcom? How about any other games besides Tekken?

538: As of now, I have no plan.
We can notice some ideas (available on Tekken) by studying other fighting games.
v.v.

sithlord: Anything you'd like changed/altered for Tekken 7? Less Characters or more added? How do you feel about Tekken X Street Fighter by Namco?

538: (Long) Combo is too easy now.
Make it harder to keep long combo.
Not mention about Character Numbers.
Tekken x SF is Wonderful collaboration, but I control myself not to be absorbed in it.

sithlord: What is your favorite Tekken to play? Of your own videos released, which one is your personal favorite?

538: Tekken Tag Tournament is my favorite.
About my video, there's no specific favorite , because I don't re-watch mine.

sithlord: You have put up your thoughts/reviews of other people's combo videos on your site. Is this something you do for the enjoyment of analyzing their work, or is it you giving some extra exposure to work you enjoy??

538: In past days, combo culture is minor.
So, I made reviews to make this growing culture well known.
(and to study something from them)

Recently, I only review the videos I think are interesting.

Thanks to 538 for taking the time and giving some insight. I look forward to the next 10th Anniversary video from KYSG.

Thanks to YOU (Deep Theater) for taking the time to translate.

Sorry Drake, 538 didn't like your question.

Good deal.

Sith, shouldn't you just have these all in one thread, rather than a separate thread for every questionnaire???

That had occured to me, but 2 different people, 2 different threads. Seems fair to me.

These interviews are so interesting. It's nice to know what goes on in each player's mind.

Well, I suppose it is a mystery for now...

I do have that one theory though.
