This thread is designed for EWGF punishment. But if you don't feel comfortable with that then you can obviously punish accordingly; -13 you can d/f+4,4_b+1,2. -14/15 you can d/f+2. Or if it's -16 you can d/f+1,2_4. If you wish to take your Kazuya-game to the next level, I insist you learn to EWGF punish. You will see greatly the effects of your damage given as well as the reaction from your opponent.

Understanding whats below:

Each line will have in this order:
Notation, Range, Command Name (if provided) and Negative Frames on Block.

Notation: The selected characters command input.
b = back
f = forward
u = up
d = down
u/b = up + back
d/b = down + back
u/f = up + forward
d/f = down + forward
1 = left punch
2 = right punch
3 = left kick
4 = right kick
fc = full crouch
ws = while standing
wr = while running
ss = side step
bt = back turned
+ = together
~ = quickly
> = delay

Example: f,b+2 (press 'forward' then 'back' together with 'right punch')

Range: The height at which the selected command connects.
l = low
m= mid
h = high

Example: f,b+2 (lm) (this move first connects 'low' followed by 'mid'.

Command Name: command = move
Provided if deemed helpful.

Example: f,b+2 (lm) Dictator's Promise
Not knowing what '3,2' is but knowing the name can be helpful, in this case looking for bullshit.

Negative Frames on Block:
All moves listed are negative 13 frames to negative 17 frames. Moves listed with a "+" sign are possibly more negative than the number listed.

***All data used was taken from my Combating Top Tier thread. While being a great source for frames, its all human tested and not free from errors nor complete. So if you find anything to add, please do!!

Hey guys. I've been testing against Bob. This really isn't technically on topic, but it seems you can ssr after his first uf+1+2 and it will make his 1 follow up whiff. The 1+2 follow up Bob has hits sometimes (sometimes it whiffs after ssr!) but you can kind of fuzzy guard against it. After ssr, block real fast. If you block his 1+2 follow up you get free ewgf. This was done in Defensive Training mode just so everyone knows.

@>phunnykidd<

now THAT"S what i'm talkin' about! this is the good s**t, >phunnykidd<. reminds me a lot of BlackPriests' Kazuya Punishment Apocalypse thread from way back. excellent post dude. i'd suggest that this gets stickied asap regardless if isn't a 100% complete yet. you can always edit it, right? hopefully, official frame data becomes available soon so we can put kaz back on top, where he belongs! woot!!!

EDIT : ACK!!! it already IS stickied. *EWGF to the head* aaarrrgh...!!!

peace out!

iirc Jack-6 ws+1 is only -12f

also I can see some error
like move which leave kaz RC after block

eg
Hei d/f+1,2 is not ewgf punish able ... tho u will get ws+1,2 if within range
DVJ 1+4,2,d+4 if the last kick is -15f then I dont think cc ewgf will work either...
Jin,Hei 4~3...this is a flip even if it is -16f I don't think kaz can ewgf it

so maybe we should keep those move out of this thread

Marshall Law:
1,2,f+2,f+1+2 = -13
3,4 = -15
f+2~1 = -16 (a lot of pushback)
d/f+4,3 = -16
d+2,3 = -15
b+1,2,2 = -17
b+3+4 = -17
f,f+2,1,3 = -13
f,f+2,3 = -17

Sorry to sound rather noobish, but I'm new to this.

Am I right in thinking every move listed here can be punished by an EWGF (13f)? Is that whiff punish, or even on block? In addition to that, for a move that is -13f on block, would you literally have to input EWGF the very same frame as you block the move so that it lands?

LotusXyx:

The moves listed in this thread can all be punished by ewgf after a block. 13f is the fastest possible ewgf, and can only be done by kazuya (f,n,d/f+2) using his mist step shortcut. Once the commands have all been executed, the ewgf impacts in 11 frames. But, since you have to take into account the time it takes to input the commands (1frame for the foward command, and one more frame to register the neutral position), you have to add at least 2 frames to the 11 animation frames, which brings you to 13 total frames.

So, if you block a move that is say, -17 frames, you actually have 4 extra frames to pull out an ewgf and still land it. If the blocked move only allows a 13frame window of punishment after being blocked, your timing has got to be razor sharp to land.

Also, you don't start inputting the command the moment you block an attack. After blocking an opponent's move, there are going to be a few frames of animation during which neither of you can make a move at all. However, at least as far as the moves listed in this thread go, your character will be able to accept inputs and performing actions 13 frames sooner than the character who's move you blocked. The timing of when to start inputting commands for ewgf varies from move to move, so you just have to practice to figure the timing out for each move.

To execute your ewgf as soon as possible, you want to input the first "f" as soon as your character recovers from the blocking animation (which is not necessarily going to come immediately), which will still be at least 13 frames sooner than your opponent can even block. In practice mode, turn on the "Hit Analysis" function, which will help give you an idea of when you can start moving again after blocking & executing moves.

Oh, and btw man...executing a 13f ewgf takes A LOT of practice, and punishing a -13f blocked move takes even more.

@ Taiosgoblin

Thanks man, that was a great explanation. It's great to see so many examples of moves that are punishable by a 13f EWGF on block, that really is great stuff. I'm fairly proficient at a 13f (P1 side), getting it roughly 70%-80% of the time. But as you said, punishing off block is most likely a whole other game. I'm decent at whiff punishing though, so that's a start, lol.

Anyways, that's a great explanation; I'll be hitting practice mode ASAP so I can learn the visual queues for punishing these moves.

All the best,

i found this a while back but forgot to mention it.

heres a way to practice your ewgf punishment for real with no one else helping you.

practice mode
set to stand to guard
set to get up midkick
set to CH

hellsweep them then block the getup BT midkick, its -14. and if you are off on your punishment the computer will block. this is also really great for dj players.

You are sure wakeupmidkick is -14? If so then my df/2 should hit, but it won't. d/f+2 is 14frames.

I suppose I setup my NPC with wrong wakeupkick then. I'll try again tonight. Never hit me that 3 and 4 had different frames on wakeupkick.

no u got it wrong it's not about wake up kick 3 or 4 coz they both have the same frame on block

FUFT is -12
FUFA is -14

u wont be able to punish the low get up kick with ewgf even of whiff anyway coz it recover on FC

to make it clearer for u from what I've been reading
I think u misunderstood >phunnykidd< post and does hs,1 instead of just single hs
coz the point is just to knock down ur opp in to FUFA and single hs does that on CH so after this just dash in to block the FUFA get up kick 4 and there u have a -14 move in practice mode

ps:
if single hs still doesn't work then try using f+4 instead coz face down get up kick 4 r definitely -14

very nice find btw I ll post this information in Thai forum as well
