-There are three versions of DRO: Asia, US, and Euro. You can only play w/ anyone who has the same version of DRO as yours. In addition, you CAN own more than just 1 version of DRO. They do not overwrite one the others, since they have different product code.
-Currently, both Asian and US versions have the updated DRO w/ extra features. There's no words on when or if the Europe version will get its update. Stay tuned.
^that's a good question I have no idea how Namco will handle that one.
Anyway my question is: Is Tekken online p2p based? Or are the servers only located in Japan or something? Cause if thats the case how can you get minimal if you dont live in Japan?
Wopza: the game play itself is P2P based, unlike, say counter-strike.
The match making / rooms are using namco's server in Japan.
My question, or concern.
for the US release will I wonder if it will have a good match making system.
We want to find people near our location with low pings. not WC vs EC distance.
I think that's what "Opti match" is for. I think it stands for "Optimum" match, so it finds the people with the best connection for you.
Even then, it's a whopping peice of shit for me (I live in Australia). Local matches are ok, interstate matches are iffy, international matches are pretty shit.
I'm disappointed that there's no "main lobby" type room where you get to chat and or see all the match rooms.
I am reduced to using jack and panda and doing pre-emptive db+1 and db+2 (respectively). Still got a few wins, but it's not fun at all.
I also have a question. In the ps3 network settings, my auto config shows that my NAT config is 3. Anyone have any idea how to get it to show as 2? I think that's the key to get some good pings on tekken. I am using a DLINK DSL G604T router.
I want to ask something. When playing local or international matches how is the lag compared to PSP ver? I can say from my personal experianse that the psp lag is worst than playing 50Hz on 5.0.

I posted two solutions in the other thread. This is the easier version

For those who don't know much about ur ps3 and the firmware, u might have encountered some internet connection issue for ur ps3 after the media server was introduced in the 1.8 update. This happens to the PS3 owner when their connection is "NAT 3"
To fix it w/o going into some crazy IP shit, follow these steps:
1. On ur main screen, go to settings (2nd from the left)
2. Go all the way to the bottom, click on connection settings.
3. Go all the way to the bottom, click on media server, and disable that fucker
4. Vola, now ur internet would not fail on u. Lags will be still there when u are fighting against long distance opp, but the temporary connection drop (as well as the wireless connections problems w/ ur computer) will no longer be there.

Just winging the forum right now J-man. But, we'll see. I don't think every place will need a "match finder" thread. But I'll think about it.
Q & A thread can serve as a FAQ as time goes by and more questions are answered.

This is Souten's review on google translation tool.
The translation is poor.....
"it is there is no ginger"
Hopefully someone will translate it properly, or summarize it.
Questions for the thread....
In game rooms, is everyone on the same audio channel, or is it set up a different way?
Does your online ranking different from your offline ranking? For example, if my Law is 300-23 offline, will that carry over into online play or will I start off 0-0?
Haha sorry about that Josh. I was able to play a few games against JPN opponents last night and the lag was horrible. Can't wait to play against some fellow MA heads tonight.

No worries. It's more fun w/ more people around.
Yeah, I was not able to do anything w/ Baek at all. Visual cue is so bad that none of my delays were able to do, as well as fla cancels... ugh, the agony.
I ended up using Yoshi for the rest of the match, and occasional cheap characters just for the fun.
Question: I saw some matches the other day and some just left the match immediately. How do u do that button input if you want to immediately leave an online match?
Does it automatically kick you out of the server or stop your session when you reach a certain number of wins??? cos i had something like 25 wins straight, (against internationals) and all of a suden at the end of my last game (wich i didnt loose) i got knocked out of the lobby.. wtf man, i was mighty pissed.
