Asuka's Ultimate Tackle

1+2+3+4, d/f+3+4, 3+4, 1+2

Just incase some people didn't know. I also seen people use this move during wall combos.

Yep, it can also be done in open ground if you end your combo right since it's unbreakable from beginning to end, you just have to fore-go your b! ender. If they don't move when you ki charge then you have a quite a few options.

A ki charged Asuka is SCARY btw...

d+3+4
d/b+4,3
b+4
FC D/F+2
WS 1+2
d+2
etc

Just off the standing d+2_d/b+4,3 ki charged mix-up you're going to do MAJOR damage. If they block the d+2 they are stuck in FC with you having plenty of frames to BD or SS any attempt to hit you since you can't block anything after a ki-charge. Pretty solid mix-up with the low doing STUPID damage.

To top it off, if they don't tech, and they try quick standing 1+4 will pick up for a float. 3~4 and f,f+3 should both catch side roll, d+1+2_3+4_d/b+3_d/b+4 will all hit if they stay grounded. b+4,2 should b! quickstand and CH both get up kick options.

Really, it CAN be worth while to go for in open ground. At wall anyone with half a brain will ALWAYS stay down and take the grounded hit to kill your ki-charge because they are going to have to face the FC d/f+2_ws1+2 mix-up, both being a guaranteed CH. If Asuka goes for d/b+4,3 in this position she's getting over 100 life without needing a TA (pretty sure d/b+4,3 w! 3,1, 2,1,1+2 b! f+1,4 still all hits, I'd have to test).

But yeah, enough about that all for now. I'll save the various charge set ups for when I get time to write the Asuka bible. Some of them will surprise you for sure...

I always do it at the wall. And catch people with b4 for a full combo they're so scared of db4,3

Can anybody suggest a good move for Asuka that's likely to get the first hit when the battle starts?

Depends which opponent you're playing. But I tend to use d/f+1 and 4 a lot.

df+1 to avoid and high crushes.

But honestly you're generally better off waiting and wiff punishing your opponent with f+2 if they do a move at the start.

Sometimes I like to start a match with f+2, it shows you're crazy and unpredictable, and that's a good advantage to have In fact many people are so shocked by the f+2 that they forget to punish it

Isn't d/f + 1 a low move?

No. d/f+1 is a very short ranged mid that gives a NICE frame advantage on hit.

I wouldn't really advise opening a match with d/f+1 though, you're screwed if they back-dashed or side-stepped if you do so.
