I didn't know which thread this post would fall under, so I made a new thread, screw it

Characters that struggle the punish qcb+4, and potential options:
Roger/Alex
Yoshimitsu (d/f+4 for 20 points)
Steve
Miguel (standing 4 for 22 points, very consistent)
Anna
Heihachi (1+2 hits, but since it's a violent knockdown, it's almost a free tag for the Bryan player)
Jin (1+2 is a gamble, because although it's his best chance vs qcb+4, it can still miss, and also -14 if he misses the first hit)
Alisa (d/f+4 for 17 points)
Marduk
Ganryu
Zafina
Baek
Capo (standing 4 for 16 points, very consistent)
Lee (f+4 for 17 points, very consistent)
Feng (b+4 for 20 points)

Everyone else I consider to be at least relatively consistent with punishing qcb+4 well, feel free to argue

That's the same range where most of the cast gets nothing as well, so Nina is nothing special to note. I certainly wouldn't say b+2,2 "struggles" to punish qcb+4.

^ yeah, agreed. for me the pushback is something like

point blank- everyone jabs, errthing
medium range - stuff like alisa df+4, hei 1+2, jin 1+2, most standing 4 string punishers hit but jabs don't
medium far - the above stuff misses.
far - nina b+22, kaz b+12 misses, long range i12 punishers from bob, dj etc still work

you can get a super long pushback mutant "safe to everything" version but it's incredibly unlikely. the "far" version itself is impossible to get with any match consistency IMO, if they take the tiniest step back it'll just miss and you're dead. "medium far" can be kinda aimed for against characters like alisa, hei, jin.

from what I remember (I don't have a console to test at the moment so I apologize if any of this is wrong)
capo f+2,1 is fairly consistent medium range, as is rolex df+4. I thought Marduk's f+1,2 / f+1,d+2 was also pretty reliable, as his f+1 has a good deal more range than his 2 or 1 iirc.

I have a console, and this was not a spur-of-the-moment list. I tested everyone (well, everyone that would make any sense of testing, like not Bob for example), and Capo f+2,1 I do not consider reliable (although this one can go either way), Marduk f+1 I do not consider reliable, and Roger/Alex d/f+4 I do not consider reliable.

Of course, what I consider "reliable" or a "struggle" is arbitrary to begin with, but yeahhh, try it out yourself

Kuni's 2,2 I consider reliable though

Baek d+4 punishes Bryan qcb+4 at pretty much all ranges.
