Things to know about Jin
PART II

• Jin's best pre-bound juggle is ewhf, 1,2,3
---This one is quite easier than it looks compared to Tekken 6

• Jin's second best pre-bound juggle is b+3~f,CDS 1, 1,3~3 B!
---This doesn't work all the time
----Requires a special angle/axis

• If f+4 hits..
---• NOTHING can interrupt CDS 1+2, not even generic crouch jabs
------unless the input is delayed
---• CDS 4 can still be interrupted by generic crouch jabs
---• CDS 3 can still be interrupted by jabs

• Jin's best low-parry juggle is b+3, b+3, b+3, b+2,1, f,f+2 (45 dmg)
---credz to SuperOgreKiller in his combo video
---timing for f,f+2 seems pretty strict

• Jin's easiest and second best low-parry is 3, b+3, b+3~f,CDS 1,2 (42 dmg)

• If Jin's b+1+2 is done RIGHT AFTER A TAG ASSAULT, there will be no charge
---this is good if you want to use the Omen Stance without that yellow light on your fist

• If you're in a mirror match, Jin's best option for after blocking the f+4 is u/f+2
---works even against CDS 1+2

• d/f+1,4 is HCc, not HC
---it is HC only with the slightest delay

• Sometimes, 1+2 can punish get-up-4's
---• Usually happens if the opponent is cornered
---• Works more often with big characters (True Ogre, Ancient Ogre, Marduk, Jack-6)

• Jin's most damaging option in a Balcony Break is b+3~f,CDS 4
---this might not hit if the juggle before the Balcony Break was too long

• If the one above will not work, Jin's second best option in a Balcony Break is CDS 1,2
---using the d+1+2 for the CDS stance would be much more preferable

So I was experimenting with OMEN setups and I found a killer when facing online players (who ONLY know how to wake up kicking >_>, though it does cut a combo short)

DVJ CH Hellsweep ~5, Jin B1+2~ OMEN
At this point, backstep and b1+2~5. If the opponent used a wakeup kick, you can whiff punish with a full SWAG combo. Not paticularly practical, but you'll get it sooooo often against scrubs its unreal, haha.

Heres a one time omen setup. After a CH 4 with jin go into omen and if they tech mixup HS with ff+3 for a full combo. CH4 juggles dont bound anyway so youre not missing on much dmg. This works with just regular jin btw but its still fun to go into omen mode

Does jin's Mental Alertness (Auto CH mode) he used to have from T4 until T6 was removed?

I mean that D+1+2 hidden move that was triggered in these movements:

f+1+2
f+4
13214
etc etc

I could only trigger it with d/f+3 on hit

Did they remove the rest? Or there is another way to do it?

removed and replaced with the f transition into the new stance which gives him better options. no need to miss the old d+1+2 really

I miss f+3,df+1+2 VERY VERY MUCH
It recovered the best and in 6 I used to use the chip damage to kill opponents in the last match thinking you were vulnerable when you recovered before them if you set it up right.

Btw, do any of you guys use the Kazama Fury?
I just noticed that the 3,2,1,4 part is NCc.. so.. (1),3,2,1,4 is NCc...
Also, the last hit is -13 on block now, so.....

I may add some of the info to Jin's combo thread once I've tested it out.

Ah the Kazama Fury, it's a rare string. Thing tough is that (1)3 track pretty well to his left side, so if you notice your opponent sidestepping your jabs and attacking after you just done a jab on block, this could be one of your options to follow it up with.

Also the use of Kazama Fury is to not complete the entire string, stop 132 and the opponent must still wait a split second to see if you're finished during that moment you can do other things instead. Then if he catches on start finishing of the entire string. But this isn't a huge part of Jin's game plan. But it's a nice harassing/annoy/stress the opponent string.

I use the string but I also never always finish the entire string unless they're at the wall recovering for hopes of a jab collision with standing 4 for a free move up to 15f.
Otherwise 1,3,2,1 or 1,3,2 and finish with standing 4, cd4, db+4, b+4 for side steppers , df24 or f+3 in hopes of a jab collision with standing 4 like above.

uf+2 clean evades jabs and realigns itself so it sort of tracks almost 90 degrees. Just realized how crazy this move is and used to be.

EDIT:

Digging up on old forums (T5, DR etc), they're freaking goldmines.

If the opponent quickstands...

  • after a qcb+1+3 throw, df+1 hits back turned. Pretty sure it's the same after df+2+3. Need to test whether b,f+2,3~f CDS 1+2 or b+3~f CDS 1+2 will hit or not.
  • after cd+3 hits, dash b,f+2,3~f CDS 1+2 hits. Tested this myself. If it seems tough, eCD+1 does the job too.
  • after a CDS 4, another CDS 4 hits back turned. And on back turned opponents, cds+4, ws+1,2~5 combos, so basically you get a small TA combo.

You helped me remember my incentives on throwing more.

No need to test df1 after df2+3. That sets up perfectly for quick standing opponents since 6.

Doing 2+4 can get a reset quickly using f+3, 4, df3~3, d3, ewhf, uf2, 1+2..... B3,b3,b3~CDs 1~2 near balconies...
If a wall is on your left 2+4 is the way to go! All that goes into a nice combo or TA combo.

Thanks for the tip on following a cd3. I was stuck on ecd1 or d4 as my opponents usually stay down for better judgement.
It's actually not all that hard. The key I believe is to do 1 good ff dash and begin provided they would get up. Begins an air combo 33dmg and if caught standing a killer 88dmg.

2+4 into b+2,1 has a backroll catch with b+2<1, 1,3~3~5.

f+3~3 spike doesn't seem to work anymore? They can tag crash to avoid the d+4 now.

cd+4, b+2,1, b,f+2,3~f,df... free instant cd mixup if they tech. Same with ending wall juggles with f+4~f,df.

At MAX wall splat range, jin can do:

df+1+2 (punch parry) W!, 1+2+5

- If you are 2 close 2 the wall it wil hit but not B!
- If you are close, u can db+2,2,3 or b,f+2,1,2
