This is part 2 of the thread which is the central point of updates for the international Tekken community. For most countries we get updates through tournament results, for other countries with arcade scenes so called deathmatches are also played to determine player ranks.

I?ve been living in Seoul, South Korea for a bit over a year and am providing info from the Korean scene together with a few other individuals. Updates from Japan also drop in from time to time.

Generally for news the Tekken News Desk here at Tekken Zaibatsu www.tekkenzaibatsu.com/forums/forum...php?forumid=187 and the front pages of www.sdtekken.com, www.avoidingthepuddle.com and www.levelupyourgame.com are the places to go, if you can read Japanese www.inatekken.com is also a great way to stay in the loop.

As part of making players aware and up to date on the Korean community I started a youtube channel dedicated for the Tekken series. The videos are recorded at Green Arcade in Seoul if nothing else is mentioned.

www.youtube.com/ldmaxi

There are of course many other youtube users uploading Tekken videos. For more links see The Tekken Links Thread at http://www.tekkenzaibatsu.com/forum...mp;pagenumber=1

Using youtube's channel search function is a great way to find what you're looking for. For a complete video index of my channel's videos download this text file:

Channel Video Index v1

This thread is also dedicated to the televised Korean Tekken league ?Tekken Crash?, produced by MBCgame. When writing this post the show is inbetween season 6 and 7. Unfortunally many of the videos from past seasons can't be found online anymore since the previous uploader Jon747 was suspended from youtube. These days garyoak99 is the main uploader of this show, www.youtube.com/garyoak99.

The current schedule of Tekken Crash can be found in this thread, generally the matches are recorded on Sundays, broadcasted on Wednesdays, and shortly after uploaded by Garyoak99.

Feel free to ask any questions and I or someone else will do their best to give you an answer, hopefully more people from other countries will join in to fill the gaps and help making a complete picture of what the current Tekken scene looks like.

Please use common sense when asking your questions and please don't reveal the information hidden in the spoiler tags until the information has been made officialy public.

Hi David!

I hope we can continue being best friends forever and ever.

Maybe one day I can visit you and we'll eat some ice cream together and laugh, because we are such good friends. That would be fun, wouldn't it ?

Rip arrived yesterday night and has been playing on stick with a low ranked card, we played all night at Green till like 6 am. I think we'll see more interesting matches with Rip today.

Fab just arrived and will go to Green in a few hours.

.

I'm guessing there is not a single Marduk player in the entire USA. Well rounded character experience is always going to be a way Korea and Japan will have an advantage the rest of the world can't really touch.

The US does have some pretty good Duk players in Pitchblack and Badmojo, but I'm guessing that none of 'em are in Narakhof's caliber.

It's not like they are being especially outskilled or straight out-tekkened, but they do not know when to duck highs in strings, are punishing incorrectly and Anakin kept attempting Jack's d/f+2 staple which does not hit on Marduk at all and overused d/b+1 and FC d/b+1 which 'duk straight up kills with u/f+3. Its a lack of matchup experience.

OK, I see what you mean. i haven't been able to watch all of the match vids yet due to shitty connection, but inexperience against a particular character does indeed play a huge role in Tekken. It doesn't matter how good you are, but if the other player is just as good as you and if he's using a character you're not familiar against, then you are completely fucked. We'll just have to wait and see if Anakin and the rest of the US players can adapt.

Thank you for the bracket information!

It's quite possible they are in the other pool. Royal Rumbles are played with 16 players if it's anything like last season's Royal Rumble. There were only 8 players listed in those brackets.

That means Fab, 레인Rain, 구라 Gura, 잡다캐릭 JDCR and others could very well be in the other pool.

Ah nope, that's the complete brackets, check again, it's 16 names. I dunno about the others but Rain will be busy with work. They had to reschedule the tournament from Saturday to Friday so some of the top players won't be able to attend due to work.

after having watched the match against Rain I have to say huge respect to Anakin.

I admit I always thought he was kind of a "one hit wonder" but now hes proven himself

I should have asked this some time ago but...

Maxi how often (perhaps on average) do the top koreans play, on a daily/weekly basis, I've been thinking maybe the hours they invest affects whether they can gain enough play time to rank up...

Was there ever a case when someone pulled an all nighter?

Thanks

Different players play different amounts of time, some are at Green almost every day, others only on weekends and some almost never. If a new RPG is released for instance you can instantly tell people are missing.

Knee and Magnetic were playing a deathmatch till 5 am just the other day but normally people don't play all night.

On a sidenote I have to say I think Knee's movement has gone up a notch the last month. The way he was moving in this latest deathmatch was out of control, it'll be really exciting to see him play in RR in three days.

well... i was watching green TV last nite before i went to bed, it seemed they still have trouble against korean veteran mishimas like jdcr, jisammoon ace...(they both were playing DJ and jdcr was winning like 20 streaks in a low..)

green boss put another pad set for Americans but rip was playing with K-stick.
