it has an xbox PCB in it right now. the pad was only $15. the paewang PCB for the dual mod is $40 and I'm broke after buying all those buttons.

most people are telling me you can't bring a 17 button controller to a tournament anyway so maybe it doesn't matter that it's not dual modded.

I had it for 3 days. I had to really work at it to get close to how good I play on the JLF with the LS-55 spring. had to spend a lot of time in practice relearning everything. your probably right that it has too many buttons. I use everything on the right hand all the time so I think that went well. the left hand only moves down to the second row for a P1 CD from the P2 side. I had planned it so I could play P1 hand on P2 just by using the second row but I soon realized that taking your hand off the buttons for just a second is not a good thing. the extra UP buttons I never use. I might stuff a microcontroller in there to add something on the 2 unused buttons.

Mc Cool (a TZ member!) hooked up a midi piano to an Arduino to a fightstick PCB and beat somebody with it on XBL!

Saw this on BoingBoing: http://boingboing.net/2014/02/03/tekken-piano.html

Come back, Mc Cool! That's a pretty good hack!

This week in sick ridiculous input devices:

"Shaolin shadowboxing... and the Wu-Tang game pad style. If what you say is true, then the Shaolin and the Wu-Tang... could be dangerous!"

Built a brand new stick for myself, from parts!

Hit Box-style stickless stick in a Jasen’s Customs Panzer Fight Stick case, with GamerFinger buttons (Cherry MX Blue switches) and a PS360+ PCB. Now I can play PS2 games with the same input device I use for PS3!

NoodleHead, I think you'd like this one

Yo!
Finally finished modding my Atrox! This is my first time doing something major like this, so any tips would be appreciated!
Mods:
-Dumped the original PCB and replaced it with a Hori Fighting Commander 4 PCB
-Rewired the lock switch to switch between ps3/ps4 on the FC4 PCB
-Neutrik
-Phreakmod Link
-Changed the xbox button to a button i ripped of a ps3 dualshock 3 too
-And of course. Best Grill Chie layout

Wiring was a bitch, but I think I'm getting better at soldering. Fluro green looked kinda bad, so I changed the balltop to clear green.

What a bloody mess.. hot glue was a good idea.

All wired up and ready to go

Haha.. cable management. Managed to stuff PCB and wires into a little project box

Neutrik!

Phreakmods The Link. Lock switch actually controls ps3/ps4 switch. Wasn't quite sure on how to wire up LEDs to show player number. PS home button was ripped from a dualshock 3

Finished! With new balltop

Yiggs, that's a pretty tight custom you have there. I really like the Link, but I can't get use to seeing a lever without a dust washer.

Mr. Taxi- "Galen, I don't consider you an Anna player. I have this theory that all Anna players like penis. So until you S a D you aren't an Anna player"
Dilly a couple months after he found out he was expecting- "Galen, Sith, in 9 months I'm challenging you both to diaper matches. Loser buys diapers for the winner. "

Aw, thanks!

You know, it's pretty straightforward to build a custom stick these days, if you're not going for something that fancy. FocusAttack, who want to sell you stick parts, have a good guide here ( http://support.focusattack.com/entr...ld-a-Fightstick ). You can get arbitrarily fancy, of course, but if you do something normal-ish, you don't have to solder anything. The PS360+ board lets you attach wires by screwing them into nice little terminals, and buttons these days attach with nice little "quickconnects".

I don't know why FocusAttack doesn't sell their wires pre-stripped; the only tool I had to buy for the project was a wire stripper. I guess it's like the cake-mix phenomenon -- if you strip the wires yourself (or add an egg) you feel like you're doing srs bsns electronics (baking for real).

Maybe soon there will be nice PCBs that support next-gen consoles :-\
